My first curvy clutch!

I bought the Curvy Clutch pattern from Keyka Lou a couple of weeks ago, which has been laying on my desk since then, waiting to be used during too much time... I was busy with other projects and could not put it into action till last weekend. I was eager to start! After some tests on paper I decided to enlarge the pattern to 120%. I find the original one a little bit too small and I am not really fan of tiny little clutches where you have problems to put even your mobile. With the 120% upgrade I got a BIG clutch. Now I will make one at 110% to compare the results. Either way, I like the 120% size. It is perfect to go out for dinner or lunch, and have all your belongings at hand.
When it comes to the pattern, I was a bit scared about the complexity, mainly due to the multiple layers required (focus fabric, lining and many different layers of interfacing). It turned out to be not so difficult and I am really happy with the outcome. I need to fine tune some details but, all in all, I like it!
I chose one of the asian prints that I showed you in a previous post. It is a dark grey fabric with pink cherry blossoms and japanese calligraphy. For the interior I selected a geometric print in cream and light pink, which coordinates perfectly with the focus fabric. It resulted in a very elegant clutch. I will play with some other combinations also. I am in the "bag mode" right now...

Hace un par de semanas me compré el patrón del Curvy Clutch de Keyka Lou, y ha estado esperando encima de mesa desde entonces, demasiado tiempo ya... Andaba bastante ocupada con otros proyectos que tenía en marcha y no he podido llevarlo a la práctica hasta este pasado fin de semana. Ya tenía ganas! Después de unas pruebas con papel decidí agrandar el patrón al 120%, ya que el original me parecía algo pequeño. No soy muy de bolsos "enanos" donde luego no te cabe ni el móvil. Con este nuevo tamaño he conseguido un bolso de mano enorme. Voy a probar ahora con el patrón al 110%, para comparar los resultados. En cualquier caso, me gusta mucho el tamaño 120%. Es perfecto para salir a comer o cenar y tener todas tus cosas a mano, sin que te falte espacio. Cabe de todo!



Pues bien, el patrón me daba un poco de miedo. Quizá esa es también la razón por haberlo tenido tanto tiempo esperando… Mi temor principal era la cantidad de capas que lleva (tela exterior, forro, mas un montón de capas diferentes de entretela… es decir, un buen número de capas a coser todas entre sí). Al final ha resultado más sencillo de lo que yo esperaba y estoy muy contenta con el resultado. Necesito refinar algunas cosillas pero, en general, me gusta mucho!




Para este primer bolso he usado una de las telas asiáticas que os enseñé en un post anterior. Es un estampado muy discreto de ramas y flores de cerezo en rosa claro junto con unos detalles de caligrafía japonesa, sobre un fondo gris oscuro. Para el interior he escogido un motivo geométrico en tonos crema y rosa claro, que combina perfectamente con la tela exterior. Me parece un bolso muy elegante. Ahora voy a probar con otros estampados. Estoy en la "fase bolsos"...
